Kids' Kayaking Class

Kids in our Sea Kayak Camp paddle in Cohasset Harbor.
The key to teaching kids to paddle is to make learning fun. Our kids kayaking classes are taught by instructors who have experience teaching children and want kids to have a blast.
Our classes begin with an introduction to small craft safety, equipment, and basic paddle strokes. After that, games and short outings on the water are used to develop more advanced skills while ensuring an enjoyable and exciting experience.
  
Classes are kept small, with a maximum student/instructor ratio of 6:1. The classes are for children between the ages of 10 and 13 and may be used to fulfill the pre-requisites of the Sea Kayak Camp.
Two-Lesson Kids' Kayak Class meets for 2-hour sessions at our Newton Boathouse on the same day and time for two consecutive weeks (e.g. two Sundays in a row from 10am–Noon)
$75 includes four hours of instruction, boat rental, and three weeks of unlimited on-site practice time at any of our locations when accompanied by an adult.
Registration & Cancellation Policies for Classes, Trips, and Tours
  • Full payment is due upon registration for a class, clinic, tour, or trip.
  • For cancellations received 7 days or more before your scheduled activity, we will issue a refund less a 10% registration fee.
  • For cancellations received less than 7 days before your scheduled activity, we are unable to offer any refunds.
  • Participants in all activities will be required to sign a waiver of liability. To save time, you can download this waiver and bring it with you.
  • Classes, clinics, and trips always run unless the weather is extreme.
  • A minimum number of registrants is required for any event to run. If we cancel a trip due to low enrollment, we will provide a full refund.
