Everactive Introduction to Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Learn the basics of getting on and off your board and proper paddling and maneuvering techniques in this one-hour introductory lesson. We start with a land lesson of about 15 minutes that will include a SUP warm-up, proper water safety, and SUP etiquette.
Then we'll get on the water and learn how to safely get on and off the board. You'll go from your belly to your feet and cover proper standing technique, paddling technique, turning the board, maneuvering over and through small waves, and more depending on the level of the group.
We offer our Intro to SUP at both our Lake Cochituate location in Natick and our Newton Boathouse.
Introduction to Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Natick meets for one 1-hour session at Lake Cochituate in Natick.
$60 includes one hour of instruction and complimentary use of a stand-up board.
Registration & Cancellation Policies for Classes, Trips, and Tours
  • Full payment is due upon registration for a class, clinic, tour, or trip.
  • For cancellations received 7 days or more before your scheduled activity, we will issue a refund less a 10% registration fee.
  • For cancellations received less than 7 days before your scheduled activity, we are unable to offer any refunds.
  • Participants in all activities will be required to sign a waiver of liability. To save time, you can download this waiver and bring it with you.
  • Classes, clinics, and trips always run unless the weather is extreme.
  • A minimum number of registrants is required for any event to run. If we cancel a trip due to low enrollment, we will provide a full refund.

    Stand-Up Paddleboard Rentals: On-Site and Off-Site
    Charles River Canoe & Kayak also rents Stand-Up Paddleboards! We have boards at all our rental locations (Boston, Cambridge, Newton/Auburndale, Newton/Nahanton Park, and Natick).
    All our locations have a combination of the Randy French Softtop by Surftech and various boards by Doyle. In Newton we also have the Rubicon (a stable board by Tahoe), the Bark (a fast paddling board by Surftech), and the Pearson Laird (Surftech's best-selling SUP for surfing).
    The boards at our Newton location are also available for off-site rental so you can take them to a location of your choosing (surf, anyone?).
    Everactive Private SUP Instruction
    We are happy to tailor a one-on-one lesson to your needs. Whether you have never been on a board before or have been Stand-Up Paddleboarding for a while, we can work with you to advance your skills, build your fitness, and increase your enjoyment of SUP.
    We offer our Private SUP Instruction at both our Lake Cochituate location in Natick and our Newton Boathouse.

    • Everactive SUP Group & Corporate Outings
    Stand-Up Paddleboarding is a novel and exciting activity for small groups! You can go it alone, or our coaches can work with your participants to get up and running and having a blast in no time! We can arrange group outings at any of our locations, and can partner Stand-Up Paddleboarding with other paddlesports like Canoeing and Kayaking.
    We offer group instruction and coaching for $120 per hour plus the cost of board rental ($15/board per hour). Learn more about our group outings, including group discounts and catering, on our Group Outings page.
