We carry a full line of car rack products to fit your car, boat, situation, and budget, from inexpensive foam-block kits to complete Thule rack systems. We are happy to discuss your transport options, and we always show you how to tie down your boat! We can even install your rack for you.
Thule produces complete car rack systems that can carry boats, bikes, skis, and more. We've chosen Thule racks because they fit almost all vehicles on the road, have a variety of well-designed accessories,
and have a lifetime warranty.
A basic Thule system consists of crossbars and towers to attach the crossbars to the vehicle. In most circumstances you'll add an accessory to attach your boat to the rack, like the Hull-a-Port (shown at right).
We carry a wide variety of watersports accessories so you can tailor your system to your situation. For example, if you'll be loading your kayak alone, consider the Hullavator, which practically lifts the boat for you. For a comprehensive discussion of available attachments, learn How to Transport Your Boat.
We also carry Thule Cargo Boxes, which offer amazing flexibility for additional gear storage. Whether you want to store your paddling gear, luggage, or skis, Thule has a box for you. We carry the Ascent 1100 and Frontier, both of which hold 11 cubic feet and can accommodate skis up to 210cm (for you nordic skiers out there).
We also stock Malone rack accessories as a less-expensive option. Malone accessories will fit on square, round, and most factory bars.
In addition to J-cradle and saddle options, Malone also offers excellent loading-assist options. The Seawing-Stinger Combo combines a saddle system with a moveable slide that allows easy solo loading from the back of the vehicle.
The Telos system (shown at right) combines with a J-cradle to help you lift your kayak onto the top of your vehicle. Best of all, once you've loaded one boat, you can move the Telos to the other side of your vehicle and load another.
Riverside Cartop Carriers
For a less expensive rack option, we carry foam-block cartop systems by Riverside. While not as secure as a Thule rack system, with proper tie-down a foam-block system will do the job. Foam-block systems work best with a single boat, but can carry multiple boats in certain circumstances.
Canoe & Kayak Trailers
If you can't or won't lift your boat onto your roof, consider a trailer! See an overview of canoe/kayak trailers and how they can help you lift less and paddle more.
Rack Assembly & Installation Fees
If you don't want to install the rack yourself, we are happy to assemble the rack and mount it on your vehicle for a fee of $25. If you purchase accessories with your rack, we will install most at no additional charge; if you purchase accessories but not a rack, we will install them for $10. Assembly and installation of a Thule Hullavator or Slipstream is $25 per unit.
