Barking Crab Kayak Tours
from Kendall Square
Combine amazing skyline views with the excitement of paddling on Boston Harbor, add in a wonderful meal, and you've got our Barking Crab Tour! Barking Crab Tours begin and end at our T-accessible Kendall Square location.
On the way to the Barking Crab, we'll paddle under the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge!
We'll begin with a quick introduction to kayak strokes, then we'll launch our double kayaks and head toward the harbor, passing the Museum of Science, original Charles River Dam, and Zakim Bridge before we transit the locks into Boston Harbor.
Now in the world of salt water and tides, we'll paddle to the Charlestown Navy Yard to view the U.S.S. Constitution and U.S.S. Cassin Young, then head along the waterfront. Wonderful skyline views, along with such landmarks as the New England Aquarium, Rowe's Wharf, and Moakley Courthouse, await!
We'll glide into Fort Point Channel and dock at the Barking Crab, then sit down for a perfect seafood lunch. You'll choose your own meal from their complete menu (which includes vegetarian and non-seafood options) and pay at the restaurant (be sure to bring a method of payment). Because this is a safety-conscious paddling adventure, consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted.
In case you are not familiar with the restaurant, the Barking Crab is Boston's premier waterfront clam shack, with fresh lobster, crab, clams, oysters, and more. They have a complete menu of sandwiches, entrees, and traditional fried seafood. The Barking Crab also offers steaks, burgers, chicken, soups, salads, and at least one vegetarian option.

Once our bellies are full and our spirits relaxed, we will return to our kayaks and paddle back to Kendall Square, enjoying the sights from what feels like a totally different vantage point.
Our Barking Crab Tour is a full-day event that involves paddling 6–8 miles. The tour requires no special skills, but you should have some paddling experience and be prepared to spend 3–4 hours paddling to and from the Barking Crab. The tour is not recommended for beginner paddlers.
If you are interested in a shorter tour appropriate for beginners that gives you a taste of paddling in Boston Harbor, try our Harbor Tour. If you enjoy the combination of paddling and great food, you can also try our Barbeque Tour.
Six-Hour Barking Crab Tours meet at our T-accessible Kendall Square location.
$99 for an Adult, including guiding and kayak rental. Food and beverages at the restaurant are not included.
$85 for a Child ages 10 to 15. Each child must be accompanied by one adult.
