Safety Information

Our rules for renting at this time are outlined below. Please double check our website at: https://paddleboston.com/covid/ as the process may change. We appreciate your patience and flexibility in this time as following these rules helps us keep you and our staff safe.

Before you arrive:

  • You must be able to get into your boat without any physical assistance from our staff. Our staff will provide verbal and visual tips to help you get in and out of the boats safely but must do so from afar. If renting, there must be one able-bodied self-sufficient adult in your party that can help your family into their boats before getting into their own.
  • Everyone in your party must sign our online waiver in advance. Our staff will confirm receipt of the waiver prior to your rental.
  • All paddlers are required to be in good health and wear a mask while on land and at the dock.
    • Please call to cancel or reschedule your appointment if anyone in your party
      • Has had a fever, cough or or any type of respiratory illness in the last 14 days
      • Has been in close contact with anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 or has been diagnosed with COVID-19

Additional Steps We’re Taking:

  • Lifejackets are available for rental and are washed after every use, along with the paddles and boats.
  • We will not be renting dry bags to limit additional contact.
  • We will have drybags and lifejackets available for purchase at our online store and also may have a limited selection at our rental sites.

Upon Arrival:

Please don't be late! We need everyone to stick to a strict schedule to ensure we are all following the social distancing protocol.

We will have a staff person greeting customers and guiding them to their designated check in-station. Check-in stations will be spaced out by 10 ft.

Wait at your designated station until your group is called to the dock. Customers will not be allowed on the dock until they have been called down in order to manage traffic flow and provide the best experience possible under these circumstances.

Paddle Tips & Launching: Our staff will provide verbal instructions with tips on how to get into your boat and how to navigate once you are on the water. They will also give you instructions for how to return and exit your boat. Please ensure that there is one able-bodied adult in your party that can help your family/loved ones into their respective boats before getting into their own.

Return: You are expected to return to the dock at the end of your rental. Upon arrival, a staff member will guide you to a specific location on the dock or ask that you wait until a space is clear. Once you exit your boat, you will be expected to pull your boat onto the dock and place your life jacket and paddles inside the boat and assist others in your party to do the same.

From there, please provide the name you booked your reservation to our staff at the desk so we know you are safely off the water.
